How to use it

Three steps, about a minute

  1. Step 1

Find your Place ID with Google's Place ID Finder, then paste it into the Place ID field.

  2. Step 2

Enter your business name and the customer first name you want in the message.

  3. Step 3

Copy the review link, or copy the ready-made text or email request and send it.

How the google review link generator works

Every business on Google Maps has a Place ID, a unique code Google uses to identify the listing. You can find yours with the Place ID Finder in Google's Maps Platform documentation: search your business name and copy the ID it shows. The generator drops that ID into Google's review address, https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_ID, which opens your listing with the review form ready to fill in. It then places the link, your business name and the customer's first name into a short text message and an email you can copy and send. Test the link yourself before sending it to customers. The templates follow Google's review rules: ask every customer the same way, offer nothing in return and never write, buy or filter reviews.

Pro tips

Using the numbers like a pro: tips for local service businesses

Tip 01

Send the request the day the job is finished, ideally before the crew leaves. A text with the direct link takes the customer to the review form in one tap.

Tip 02

Ask every customer the same way. Filtering out unhappy customers before asking, often called review gating, breaks Google's review policy and can lead to removed reviews.

Tip 03

Never offer discounts, gift cards, prize entries or any other reward for a review, even an honest one. Google prohibits incentivized reviews, and the FTC has rules against fake and paid-for reviews too.

Turn it into leads

Want us to do this for you?

A review link turns a polite request into a one-tap action. Add it to invoices, follow-up texts, email signatures and a QR code on your leave-behind card. Over time, a steady flow of honest reviews strengthens your Business Profile and makes every ad and listing more convincing. Wiring the link into your job software, so it goes out when a job is marked complete, is a setup we handle often.

FAQ

Google Review Link Generator questions

How do I get a direct link to my Google reviews?

You can copy a review link from your Business Profile using the option to ask for reviews, or build one from your Place ID by adding it to the end of https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=. Both open the review form for your listing. Test the link on a phone and a computer before sending it to customers.

Is it against Google policy to offer incentives for reviews?

Yes. Google does not allow businesses to offer money, discounts, free services or gifts in exchange for reviews, and it prohibits asking only happy customers. Reviews must reflect real experiences, so fake reviews and reviews written by owners or staff about their own business are not allowed either. Violations can lead to removed reviews and profile restrictions.

What should a review request text say?

Keep it short and personal: the customer's first name, a thank-you for the specific job, the direct review link and your business name. For example: "Hi Maria, thanks for choosing us today. If you have a minute, would you share your experience on Google? [link]" Do not suggest what to write or how many stars to give.
