How the nap consistency checker works
NAP stands for name, address and phone. You enter your official version, then paste each listing on its own line as Source | Name | Address | Phone, copied from directories, social pages and map apps. Before comparing, the tool normalizes formatting so harmless differences are not counted as errors: it ignores letter case and punctuation, treats Street and St or Suite and Ste as the same, and compares phone numbers by their digits only. Each listing is then checked on name, address and phone, mismatches are highlighted in the table, and the matches add up to a consistency score. The tool checks only what you paste in. It does not search the web for listings, so the result is as complete as the list you gather.
Using the numbers like a pro: tips for local service businesses
Treat your Google Business Profile as the master record. Settle on one exact business name, one address format and one main phone number, then make every other listing match.
Start with the listings that matter most: Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Facebook, Yelp and the main directories for your trade. Old listings showing a previous address or phone come next.
If you use call tracking, Google lets you set a tracking number as the primary phone on your Business Profile and keep your main number as an additional phone.
Want us to do this for you?
Consistent listings make it easier for Google and customers to trust that the business on your profile is the same one in every directory. A wrong phone number on an old listing can also send real callers to a dead line. Fix the mismatches this tool finds, then recheck twice a year. For long lists, a full listings cleanup is something we take on.

NAP Consistency Checker questions
What is NAP consistency?
NAP consistency means your business name, address and phone number appear the same way everywhere they are listed online: your website, Google Business Profile, social pages and directories. Matching details help search engines connect those mentions to one business, and they stop customers from calling old numbers or driving to old addresses.
Does NAP consistency affect local SEO?
Matching details across the web help search engines trust that your information is accurate, which supports how your business shows up in local results. The bigger effect is often practical: wrong phone numbers and old addresses cost real calls and visits. Fix the important listings first rather than chasing every small directory.
Do small differences like St vs Street matter?
Not much. Search engines generally understand common abbreviations, which is why this checker treats Street and St, Suite and Ste, letter case and punctuation as equal before comparing. The real problems are different names, old addresses, wrong suite numbers and outdated phone numbers. Still, pick one format and use it wherever you can.
